Samantha is a New York State licensed speech-language pathologist, holding her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. In addition, she is a certified Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). Samantha completed her Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at Iona College and received a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from St. John’s University.
She targets speech and language goals using individualized lesson plans and engaging activities to improve communication skills required for academic and professional success, as well as, functional living. She previously worked in a private practice with clients ranging from age two to adulthood, targeting expressive and receptive language skills, fluency, social skills/pragmatics, narrative/discourse skills, auditory processing, executive functioning, reading comprehension, cognitive skills, and articulation. Currently, she is working as a school-based speech-language pathologist in a middle school, working on academic language learning skills. Throughout her sessions, she targets auditory and reading comprehension, higher-level thinking skills, expressive vocabulary, verbal and written expression, grammatical and syntactical structures, pragmatic skills, narrative development, and articulation. Samantha believes in forming positive professional relationships with her clients/students, as well as their families, to ensure positive prognosis and maximal performance. She is a multi-disciplinary team player and enjoys collaborating with other professionals and parents to ensure utmost performance.
Samantha also provides evaluations and treatment for one-on-one clients, varying in age, at their homes targeting a variety of skills to meet their communication goals. These skills include, but are not limited to, expressive and receptive language, articulation, executive functioning, fluency, cognition, and pragmatics.
She also offers effective and engaging tele-therapy/remote sessions to increase convenience under specific circumstances.
