What’s Included?

The program features six weeks of structured phonemic awareness lessons, ensuring students review and strengthen the foundational skills they learned in the past school year. Each lesson revisits critical weeks from the grade level just completed, focusing on the sounds of language to solidify connections between letters and sounds.

To further enhance learning, the program also includes access to daily lesson videos led by literacy specialists about rhyming, initial phoneme isolation, blending, segmenting, adding, deleting, alphabet knowledge, and language awareness. This ensures quality instruction is available to all students, regardless of location.

Lesson Details

Pre-K to 1st Grade:

  • Duration: Each lesson is 10-12 minutes long, designed to be oral and auditory.
  • Content: Lessons cover 7-8 phonemic awareness skills and 2 early literacy skills.
  • Structure: Whole group sessions.

The full English curriculum manual spans 35 weeks and offers daily lessons that cover skills such as rhyming, initial phoneme isolation, blending, segmenting, adding, deleting alphabet knowledge, and language awareness.

Pre-K (For students who completed preschool):

  • Components: Each lesson includes 8 phonemic awareness skills, 1 letter name and letter sound recognition activity, and 1 language awareness activity using nursery rhymes.
  • Audience: 4- and 5-year-olds in preschool or transitional Kindergarten.
  • Skills: Rhyme, onset fluency, phoneme isolation, blending, segmenting, adding, deleting, and substituting initial phonemes.

  • Components: Each lesson includes 8 phonemic awareness skills, alphabet knowledge & phoneme-grapheme connections, and language awareness activities (weeks 1-18).

  • Skills: Rhyme, phoneme isolation, blending, segmenting, adding, deleting, and substituting syllables and phonemes.
  • Intervention: Suitable for small group intervention to support targeted skills.

1st Grade (Primary Curriculum):

  • Components: The curriculum progressively focuses on complex skills, with 8 skills covered in weeks 1-9, 6 skills in weeks 10-20, and 5 skills in weeks 21-24.
  • Audience: 1st and 2nd-grade classrooms.
  • Skills: Rhyme, phoneme isolation, blending syllables and phonemes, segmenting syllables and phonemes, adding, deleting, and substituting syllables and phonemes.
