MIDDLESEX COUNTY, MASSACHUSETTS, READING SPECIALIST

We travel to your Wellesley home. Our Middlesex County, Massachusetts Reading Specialist, Carly, specializes in early childhood reading tutoring and the Orton-Gillingham approach.
Students with reading comprehension issues will be unable to comprehend and apply the material they have just finished reading. Visualizing and verbalizing assist students in picturing the text by creating a mini movie in their minds. Concept imagery is a common term for this procedure.
Students must draw on their real world knowledge and experiences to create meaning to visualize and verbalize. Students can process, recall, and describe information using their own words by making text-to-self connections. Picture-drawing activities allow students to respond to questions that require specific answers by drawing from the mental pictures they created.
Students require modeling, practice, supervision, and feedback in order to learn these comprehension strategies. Visualizing and verbalizing are just two examples of the many tools and techniques our Middlesex County, Massachusetts, reading specialist uses to help your child enhance his or her reading comprehension abilities. We adapt these tactics to your child’s individual needs. We want your child to learn to love reading and value its benefits as much as we want him or her to understand what he or she is reading. Regardless of your child’s age, we will assist him or her in becoming a more competent and self-assured reader.
