Learn to Write a Strong IEP for Your Child

We are pleased to announce a new series designed to empower parents of children with IEPs. You will learn to understand the nuts and bolts of each section of the IEP, and develop a high quality new draft to use as a roadmap to advocate for your child. The series includes:

? 3 interactive, personalized trainings.
? 1 hour of 1:1 consultation with me to review your draft and develop an advocacy strategy.

Getting an IEP is just the first step for getting your child the support they need. Arm yourself with the knowledge to write a new IEP that can help them soar!

Workshop sessions will be held on three Tuesdays from 8-9 pm on November 16th and 30th, and December 7th, 2021. The 1:1 consultations will be scheduled shortly following.

November 16, 2021: IEP Nuts and Bolts – A clear and accessible breakdown of each section of the IEP, with a focus on key terms, concepts and vocabulary.

November 30, 2021: Being Goal-Oriented – Let’s start at the very end! Using your child’s evaluation and other key information, you will identify and write specific goals that your child needs to meet to make progress over the next year.

December 7, 2021: Mapping Supports and Services – Now you have your child’s goals, what services and accommodations are needed to support your child in mastering these goals?

Individual Meeting – In a one-to-one hour-long meeting (scheduled individually), Miriam Nunberg will review your draft, provide feedback and help pinpoint an advocacy strategy for getting the school to adopt your proposed IEP. She will schedule these consultations with individual participants at mutually convenient times.

* Miriam Nunberg is a New York City-based and will use the NYC IEP template as a model, but the general concepts she will address apply across states in the US.

** The workshops and consultation are not intended to provide any legal or clinical advice, but are for training purposes only.**
