Group Speech Therapy for Toddlers
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR ONLINE LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT POD?
Hello! Welcome to our Online Language Development Pod! My name is Allison, and I am a Speech Language Pathologist. For the past 21 years I have found a passion in working with young children to develop and enhance language and communication skills. I look forward to working with you and your child!
Meet Allison W.
Master’s in Language Pathology
Allison is a learning specialist and NYS licensed language therapist. She earned her B.A. and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from The State University of New York College at Fredonia. For over 19 years, she has taught in schools, clinical settings, and private practice.
She is highly skilled at working with a variety of language, social/pragmatic deficits, and learning disabilities. She is experienced working with ADHD, dyslexia, and twice-exceptional students. As a learning specialist, she has worked with preschool, elementary, and secondary students for developing skills such as literacy (decoding and comprehension), writing, working and short-term memory, executive functioning, and social thinking. Allison recognizes the importance of developing customized learning programs specific to each students’ unique needs. She recognizes how organizational skills, sensory regulation, attention, written and verbal expression intertwine and impact learning.
Allison prides herself on her ability to effectively collaborate with families, teachers, and other professionals to encourage effective communication across all platforms and environments. She believes that a combination of evidence-based practice, parent/caregiver involvement, and engaging activities that make learning enjoyable is the key to success.

CURRICULUM
These sessions are designed to be fun and engaging for your toddler! They will incorporate music, videos, interactive games, and a variety of green screen interactive activities to work toward building receptive and expressive language skills to enhance overall communication.
Some of the skills we will address include:
- increasing vocabulary skills
- following directions
- increasing ability to respond accurately to a variety of questions
- increasing understanding and use of categories and basic language concepts (such as prepositions, colors, shapes, etc).
- social skills– interacting with peers in the class and learning to listen and ask/answer questions from peers.
*Please do not worry if your child has difficulty attending to the entire class. They are young and this is new for them. Young children often have limited attention spans and as they grow and develop, they will be able to attend and participate for longer periods of time! I will try my hardest to keep them as engaged as possible!
GUIDELINES FOR VIRTUAL GROUP SPEECH THERAPY FOR TODDLERS INSTRUCTION:
- Communication: schedule an appointment via email to discuss your child’s progress with his/her teacher.
- Recording instructional sessions without permission is prohibited.
- Everyone who might appear on camera needs to be dressed and behaving appropriately – check what your camera can pick up behind your child.
- I will be requesting access to mute and unmute during the class as this aids in allowing myself and others in the class to hear and be heard at different times within the class. Please remember that when the mic is on, the class will hear everything anyone says within its range.
- Please try to find a quiet place for your child to participate in class or keep background noise to a minimum during class time.
- Check your child’s audio daily.
- While “in class” students should leave their camera on so their teacher can see the student.
Check out Allison showing us how to use Green Screen during her sessions!
