It Takes Two to Talk is a family-focused program that gives parents or other caregivers of children with language delays in the 2 to 7 year range, practical tools to help their child communicate. The program s philosophy is that because parents and other family members are the most important people in the child's life, they are the best people to help their child learn to communicate.

What Family Members learn in the It Takes Two to Talk Program
how your child communicates right now and the next steps to take
what motivates your child to communicate
how to engage your child in back and forth conversations, even before s/he can talk
how to turn everyday activities into opportunities for your child to learn language
how to fine tune what you say so your child can understand you and learn new words and ideas

Dates: The program will be offered on Thursdays from September through December. The dates of the program are: 9/8, 9/15, 9/22, 10/6*, 10/13, 10/20, 10/28, 11/3*, 11/10, 11/17, 12/1*, and 12/8. All parent sessions (in bold) will meet from 9:30 AM-12 noon. In these sessions parents will participate in small group instruction with other parents who have children with a language delay. The sessions that are marked with an asterisk (*) will be scheduled for you and your child to interact together in the afternoon, for approximately 30 minutes, after his/her regular day program.
