Brooklyn Letters is forming a new social skills summer group. We are recruiting children between the ages of 3 1/2 to 9 years old (all children are matched by age, social/emotional skills, and interests).
Social skills refer to the set of unwritten rules that facilitate effective interaction with others at home and in the community.
We plan to start two social skills groups on Saturday mornings, located at a new office in Windsor Terrace (19th Street and 8th Ave, Brooklyn). 1st session will be on December 1st, 2012.
We are recruiting children between the ages of 3 to 8; we work with children with and without diagnoses, such e.g. autism spectrum (PDD, Aspergers), language processing, speech language delay, social language delay, auditory processing disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, language based learning disabilities, etc.
We plan on running social skills groups (2-4 children per group) this summer for children of all ages: Tuesdays between 1-4pm; each group lasts approximately 1 hour. Your child’s social skills will be screened beforehand and we build groups based on the child’s needs. We are happy to run the group in your home!
